New Zealand Black Coral is rare to see around the northland coastline, mainly found in deeper water beyond diving depths. This frond is on a local deep reef at around 35m, frequently visited by fisherman, I fear that it will be damaged by fishing lines or anchors. Protected in New Zealand waters.
